With the lives of millions already impaired due to the scare of the deadly pandemic, another cause of concern taking a toll on the health is the fear of Black Fungus infection among recovered COVID patients. Odisha, on Monday, reported the first case of Black Fungus infection, also known as Mucormycosis. The man from Bhubaneswar who is suffering from uncontrolled diabetes recently experienced swelling in the eyes apart from blackish discharge from the nose. Speaking on the severity of the infection and ways to cure, senior health expert, Dr. Niraj Mishra said that those who have recovered from Covid must avoid exposure to soil as black fungus infection is caused by fungi found in the soil.
