Flights Services Soon From 2 New Airstrips In Odisha: Odisha Transport Minister

Flight services from Jeypore in Koraput and Rangeilunda in Ganjam district will commence soon. This information was shared by State Transport Minister, Padmanabha Behera on Friday (Aug 6) who said that the final decision has been taken by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The Minister informed that regional air connectivity is being enhanced under the UDAN scheme which is the regional airport development and regional connectivity scheme of the Indian government. However, under the non-UDAN initiative, the state government has decided to operate smaller flights on routes like Jeypore-Vizag and Rangeilunda-Vizag. Meanwhile, Behera also stated that the process to kick-start new flight operations have reached the final stages.
