With cylonic storm Yaas expected to cross Odisha-West Bengal near Balasore, its effects are already visible in the coastal areas of the state. The coastal districts in North Odisha to be most affected are Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur. With landfall expected on the afternoon of May 26th (Wednesday), the changes in weather conditions are already noticeable. Many places in the districts expected to be affected witnessed a sudden change in weather conditions. Skies soon turned overcast over most parts in the coastal belt of Odisha. Rainfall was recorded in several places, while many places witnessed a pickup in wind speed.
