Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday (May 26) promised to provide relief materials to all the families affected in the cyclonic storm Yaas. Reviewing the post-cyclone situation, the Chief Minister announced to provide seven days' relief materials to people of 128 villages which have been severely hit by the natural calamity.
Patnaik has directed officials to clear the major roads for smooth transportation and at least 80% restoration of electricity supply in the affected districts as early as possible. The CM congratulated all Panchayat representatives, district administrations, community organisations and the police for their timely work in evacuation. He has also thanked the doctors and health workers for providing continuous health services in the affected districts during Cyclone Yaas.
As per reports, the people of the affected 128 villages would be provided with cooked food or cooking materials and dry food for seven days. SRC Pradeep Jena informed that the local panchayat bodies and block level officials will make arrangements for the same.
