The COVID19 R-Value in Puri, Cuttack & Khordha is less than 1 percent. This information was shared by Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET) Chief, CBK Mohanty on Friday (Aug 6). The DMET Chief explained that the R-value in these areas is less than 1 percent since the cases are on a downtrend, albeit slowly. Mohanty explained that theoretically, when the R-value is higher than 1, then an infected person ends up transmitting the virus to more than one person.
This leads to a rapid increase in the number of cases. However, since the same pattern is not being observed on field, it indicates that the R-value is definitely lower than 1 percent in Cuttack, Puri and Khordha.
