Corona Breaking: Odisha Records More Than 80 Deaths In 48 Hours, Daily Cases Close To 9K

The Covid crisis in Odisha has refused to relent as a record 42 persons succumbed in the last 24 hours. The state has witnessed more than 80 fatalities in just two days, even as the fresh Covid-19 cases continue to remain below 9K for the fourth consecutive day.

DAILY INFECTIONS in Odisha was recorded at 8839, 4th consecutive day with over 8K cases. Odisha’s Test Positivity Rate (TPR) stood at 12.59 per cent. As per I&PR data, 4948 cases are from QUARANTINE, rest 3891 cases are LOCAL CONTACTS.

KHORDHA records highest with 1235 infections, followed by CUTTACK with 769 positive cases. The ACTIVE CASELOAD in Odisha stood at 85,423 after today’s surge. Odisha’s cumulative Covid-19 POSITIVE TALLY has risen to 7,90,970. As many as 10,594 RECUPERATED from Covid-19 on Wednesday. Till date, a total of 7,02,621 people have RECOVERED FROM COVID-19 in the state.
