The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not release the merit list for Class10 and 12 students. This is for the second time in a row that the Board will not be releasing the merit list as such was the case also in 2020. The decision of CBSE comes in the wake of the current pandemic situation and due to changes in the evaluation criteria.
Earlier in 2019, a total of 97 students of Class 10th had secured the top three positions as compared to 23 students of Class 12 in top three positions. However, in 2020, the board examinations for some subjects could not be conducted due to COVID-19 pandemic. This year the board decided to finalise the marks of all the examinees following an alternative marking scheme.
Last year, the CBSE had released the Class 10 results 2020 on July 15 and the Class 12 results on July 13. However, the board only published the pass percentage, region wise performance, gender wise pass percent, institution wise performance but no merit list was released.
Similarly, the Board will not release any merit list this year as well. According to CBSE, the Board will neither declare subject wise 0.1% merit list of students nor issue merit certificates to the students.
