Remember the cycle girl from Bihar? Jyoti Kumari of Darbhanga district came into the limelight last year during the first wave of the Covid pandemic, when she cycled over a thousand kilometre with her incapacitated father to get back home. She lost her father on Monday.
Last year the migrant workers stuck in different states far from their hometown faced numerous issues. This was when Jyoti Kumari and her father Mohan Paswan returned from Gurugram to Bihar on a bicycle. Jyoti rode her father who was seated on the bicycle carrier, and they completed a journey of 1200 km.
This noble and selfless act of Jyoti won her many accolades and she also received financial assistance from several persons. The Cycle girl became a familiar face since then. She is devastated after her father’s demise.
