After Priyanka Chopra Jonas drew criticism over her participation in the CBS show 'The Activist', the actress has issued an apology. She said she is sorry for the participation which has disappointed many and she is also ‘moved’ by the criticism.
The actress in her instagram post claimed that the show got it wrong and the intention was always to "bring attention to the people behind the ideas and highlight the actions and impact of the causes they support.” On the other hand, the network CBS had announced a change in format for the show.
Now, it would be changed from a competition show to a one-time documentary. Earlier, the Activist' was announced adding six "inspiring activists" who will team up with three public personalities such as Usher, Priyanka, and Julianne Hough.
The format for the series had six activists representing three causes such as health, education and environment. The activists had to complete challenges to raise awareness about those issues during the initial four episodes.
For the fifth and final episode, three of the six activists would have been chosen (one representing each area) to go to the G20 summit in Rome and meet with world leaders personally to press their causes.
