12 Trains Cancelled, 8 Diverted After Goods Train Derails In Odisha

As many as 12 trains have been cancelled by the East Coast Railways (ECoR) after a goods train derailed on Angul- Talcher Road Route on Tuesday. Apart from that, routes of eight other trains were diverted and one was short terminated as the tracks in this route were blocked.

As per reports, six compartments of a wheat-laden train derailed this morning disrupting the train services in Dhenkanal- Sambalpur Rail Section. Fortunately, the Loco Pilot and other staff of the goods train escaped unhurt in the mishap.

The trains which have been cancelled for Tuesday include - Rourkela-Puri Special, Puri-Rourkela Special, Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Inter City Special, Puri-LTT Special, Bhubaneswar-Balangir Inter City Special, Balangir-Bhubaneswar Inter City Special, Hatia-Puri Special, Puri-Hatia Special, Puri-Durg Special, Durg-Puri Special, Rourkela-Gunupur Special. Gunupur-Rourkela Special train has been cancelled For Wednesday.

Eight other trains running on the route were diverted after the incident. Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Inter City Special that was scheduled on Tuesday will only run between Rourkela and Sambalpur City.
