Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik conducted an aerial survey today (May 27) to assess the damage caused by ‘Cyclone Yaas’. The CM conducted the survey of the worst-hit Kendrapara, Balasore and Bhadrak districts of the state.
Earlier yesterday, the Chief Minister had reviewed the restoration and relief works required post-cyclone in the affected areas. Additionally, Patnaik also reviewed the rescue and restoration works by the NDRF and ODRAF teams and the Electricity Department.
The Chief Minister had assured early restoration of electricity and also directed top officials to undertake the repair works on a priority basis. As many as 128 villages including 84 in Balasore and 48 in Bhadrak were hit hard by ‘Cyclone Yaas’ that crossed the coast in Balasore district in the form of a very severe cyclonic storm on Wednesday (May 26).
