A cyclonic storm is very likely to develop between by May 26th over Bay of Bengal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area is likely to form over North Andaman Sea and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal around May 22. This low pressure area is very likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm in the subsequent 72 hours. Moreover, it is likely to move North-westwards and reach Odisha-West Bengal coast around May 26th. The Met office also informed that continuous watch being maintained over Andaman Sea & adjoining Bay of Bengal for probable development of depression around May 23rd.
