CBSE Exams Big Update On Marks: SC To Hear Plea Of Students For Retaining Original Results Secured Under Alternative Assessment

In a big relief for many CBSE (Central Board Of Secondary Education) students, the Supreme Court on Monday (Nov 23) informed that it will hear the plea filed by the students seeking directions to the Board for retaining original marks obtained in the board exams through alternative assessment.

The hearing has reportedly been scheduled for December 6.

Thousands of students had earlier opted for improvement exams in the offline mode after CBSE board declared their marks using the 30:30:40 evaluation policy.

However, as per the plea filed, many of them have either been declared failed or have been awarded very less marks in the improvement exams held in August-September this year, while earlier they had been declared pass during the alternate assessment.

The plea filed by students has further sought a direction to the concerned authorities to maintain the original result and not treat the improvement exam results as final.

The plea mentioned that the idea of offline examination was to give an opportunity to students to improve their marks and not to put them in disadvantage or to declare those, who were already declared pass, as failed.
