With the fear of the newly-detected Covid variant ‘Omicron’ gripping the state, Odisha Public Health Director, Niranjan Mishra on Thursday (Dec 2) informed that 380 persons have so far returned to Odisha from "at-risk countries".
"I'm confident that this year we will be able to say that Covid-19 is over as a public health emergency of international concern," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a media briefing.
Wray's comments come after the US Department of Energy had recently assessed that the Covid-19 pandemic was likely caused by an accidental lab leak in China.
Covid-19 was the sixth leading cause of death in the US in January, according to a report published by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
More than 40 per cent patients, who suffered Covid-19 disease, are at an increased risk of developing autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis, according to a study led by German researchers.
