Odisha’s Omicron tally jumped to 8 after 4 more foreign returnees tested positive for the new variant of Covid-19. Their positive samples were reportedly genome sequenced at Institute of Life Sciences in Bhubaneswar. The first two Omicron cases were detected in state on December 21. Two days later, two more cases were reported after two minor girls who had returned from Nigeria tested Omicron positive.
