No Returnee From At-Risk Countries Has Tested Positive So Far: Top Odisha Health Official

State Health Services Director Bijay Mohapatra on Tuesday (Dec 7) claimed that till Monday evening, not a single person who has arrived in Odisha from ‘at risk’ countries has tested positive for Covid-19.

However, speaking on certain media reports about 6 returnees from ‘at risk’ countries testing positive, Mohapatra said they are verifying the veracity of the reports and will inform if there were any, by Tuesday evening.

Referring to the untraceable foreign returnees, he mentioned that the health department is trying to trace them at micro-level in every district and will surely trace them.

Further, the top health official said researches have opined that vaccine is working and the recent studies also suggest Omicron Variant is not a cause for panic.
