Several students of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kaptipada of Mayurbhanj district reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 virus triggering fears. Prior to this, as many as 10 students of a government run girl’s school at Bolangir district had tested positive for COVID-19, while in Bhubaneswar two students of Capital High School and more than 10 teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 tested positive.
Amid rising fears, the School & Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash on Monday (Dec 13) informed that Covid-19 infections detected at schools are isolated cases. Dash informed that the schools are following the prescribed SOPs and that infection will not hamper studies.
The researchers measured the immune response in 96 generally healthy employees and found that it was uniformly stronger the longer the time period between vaccination and infection. The longest interval measured was 404 days.
Mandaviya said that over 65 percent of vaccines supplied in the world are from India.
People with underlying medical illnesses including diabetes, heart problems, hypertension, respiratory diseases, kidney troubles, etc. are even more at risk of contracting Covid, therefore the reissued Covid notice has caused them to express alarm.
The cases which are being reported in the country are mild symptoms and there is no hospitalisation. The Covid situation in other countries is critical due to their wrong policies.
