COVID has been surging in many parts of India prompting Centre for a readiness drive. In Odisha too, virus infections are on an upward trend with over 100 daily cases on Sunday. However, in most cases, patients are without symptoms and are under home isolation.

The patent has been granted by the German Patent and Trade Mark office (DPMA) to the team of researchers led by Prof Parimal Das, for their work which is being considered as breakthrough research in the fight against Covid-19.
Long COVID is described as experiencing persistent symptoms of the disease more than four weeks after initial infection.
