US-based Malaysian YouTuber Logesh Kumaar, the face behind the popular Kumaar Family channel, has decided to step away from full-time content creation and rejoin the traditional workforce. The creator revealed that depending entirely on YouTube income did not turn out the way he had envisioned. In a candid video addressing speculation about his future, Kumaar explained that the decision was rooted in financial security and family commitments - not a fading love for content creation.

When the Dream Meets Reality
Opening up about his journey, Kumaar reflected on his attempt to turn YouTube into a full-time career and admitted it didn’t align with his expectations.
“It was my dream to try YouTube full-time, but in reality, to be honest, I failed,” he said.
The honesty sparked discussions online, prompting Kumaar to later clarify his stance in another video.
Clearing the Air: Not Quitting, Just Rebalancing
Addressing misconceptions, Kumaar stressed that stepping away from full-time YouTube does not mean abandoning content creation altogether.
"Everyone is saying I said I failed at doing YouTube full-time. That is true. Those are the words I used. But I want to make it absolutely clear that when I said I failed, I meant I failed at doing YouTube full-time. I’ve decided to go back to work, but that doesn’t mean I failed as a YouTuber or at making content. I haven’t given up. I still want to pursue this part-time,” he clarified.
The Kumaar Family channel, he assured, will continue alongside his professional commitments.
Navigating the Job Market Again
Once the decision was made, Kumaar wasted no time applying for jobs, even as his family prepared to travel from the US to Malaysia. What followed was a rigorous interview journey spanning multiple rounds.
"So I applied for a job and this one company reached out so I started interviewing with them, I did six interview rounds and I was still in America and then there’s two more interview rounds while I was already travelling,” he said.
The offer ultimately required the family to relocate from the San Francisco Bay Area to Los Angeles, a move that wasn’t easy, especially for his wife Rachel, who already had a stable job. The family has now settled in Culver City, where both Logesh and Rachel are employed.
Choosing Family Comfort Over Creative Pressure
Kumaar emphasized that the decision brought relief rather than regret. Without the stress of financial uncertainty, he believes his creativity will flourish naturally.
"If I were single, or even just married without kids, I’d probably still be doing YouTube full-time,” he explained in his latest video.

“One of the biggest reasons I stepped back is because I want to give my kids a comfortable life. We did make money on YouTube, and we had good brand deals. We lived comfortably, but I wanted more for them. I wanted to invest in their education, their football, their food, and their overall well-being - a life I didn’t have growing up," he added.
