Popular YouTuber dies by suicide after break-up with boyfriend
In a deeply tragic incident that has left many shaken, 21-year-old YouTuber and BSc student Bonu Komali was found dead in her rented apartment in Hyderabad. The young content creator, who had built a growing presence online, is believed to have died by suicide, police sources said.
In a particularly heart-wrenching detail, just hours before her death, she sent a message to her mother saying, “I love you mummy so much,” and asked her to take care of her younger brother.
Three-Year-Relationship
According to preliminary reports, Komali had been in a three-year relationship with a 27-year-old software engineer who was also a YouTuber. The couple had recently separated. Those close to her say the breakup had deeply affected her, and she had been struggling emotionally in the months following the separation.

Investigators reportedly recovered a personal diary from her room. In her writings, Komali expressed fear about moving on from the relationship. She acknowledged that she knew he was ‘not hers’ and that he was not trying to stay, yet she continued to hope that one day he would return and choose her again. Her words reveal the silent battle she was fighting within herself, marked by longing, confusion, and emotional pain.
Attempted Suicide Earlier Too
Sources also indicated that she had allegedly attempted suicide around six months earlier, pointing to a prolonged period of distress. The incident has once again brought attention to the emotional vulnerability of young people navigating relationships, heartbreak, and mental health struggles.
