Every once in a while, a story emerges that cuts through the noise of everyday life, a reminder of how grit, opportunity and determination can completely transform a person’s destiny. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal has shared one such heartwarming tale: the journey of a fourth-year design student who once picked products at a Blinkit dark store and is now preparing to join Zomato’s design team.

CEO Shares Wholesome Message from Future Employee

Goyal posted a screenshot of a message sent by Atharv Singh, who revealed how financial struggles pushed him into gig work. With no support from home and tuition fees piling up, Atharv found himself unable to make ends meet. That’s when an Instagram advertisement for Blinkit hiring caught his eye, an opportunity he says changed the course of his life.

“In full circle now,” Atharv wrote. “There was a time when I was not able to earn anything, and life was still asking for more.”

From Dark Store Picker to Zomato Designer

Atharv joined a Blinkit dark store and worked there for four months, all while continuing his design studies. The experience, he said, grounded him and motivated him to push harder. Now, he is on the verge of joining Zomato’s design team, a leap he describes with pride and gratitude.

“This Blinkit boy will now deliver design at Zomato,” he wrote. Goyal responded warmly: “Thanks for sharing your story. Lit me up.”

Social Media Celebrates the Story

The post quickly gained traction, with users praising Atharv’s perseverance. Many described the journey as “beautiful,” “goosebump-worthy,” and a powerful reminder of how far resilience and timely opportunities can take someone.

Atharv’s journey from a gig worker to a designer isn’t just a personal triumph; it’s a testament to the transformative power of ambition and the doors that open when hard work meets the right moment.
