As per experts, solar flare is an intense localized eruption of electromagnetic radiation in the Sun's atmosphere. Though the earth will not be affected by the heat, it could possibly disrupt signal transmissions including satelites, mobile, GPS and others.

The X1-class flare caused a temporary, yet strong radio blackout across the sunlit side of Earth centred on South America, according to the US Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), which tracks space weather events.
