The second Arindam Das Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Amlan Nanda, a final year BTech computer science student at the Sambalpur University Institute of Information Technology (SUIIT).

"The use of AI has just begun in television broadcasting and for that reason, Lisa is all set to create many new milestones in times to come. She is the first AI anchor in the free-to-air regional television broadcasting arena," said OTV MD Jagi Mangat Panda while introducing Lisa.
The television channel had aired an audio conversation between two people in August 2020. One of the persons, who claimed (in the clip) to have returned from a Covid hospital after recovery, undermined the disease saying it would be cured without treatment and medicines.
Odisha Information and Public Relations minister, Pradeep Amat, who was the chief guest at the event, handed over the award to OTV’s Human Resources Department Head, Abha Walia.
Celebrations kicked off on the office premises in Bhubaneswar after the channel achieved the feat.
Addressing a gathering at the sixth annual function of a leading voluntary organisation, Maheswari Sangathan in Bolangir, Panda said, “Women should be encouraged in the workforce. We have a target of at least 50 per cent women in workforce. Inclusion of more women in the workforce is my dream.”
Women’s Day also marks a call for a gender-equal world that is free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination and is diverse, equitable, and inclusive while differences are valued and celebrated.
However, she joined the programme in virtual mode. Addressing the programme, Panda said, “I am really sad that I could not join the event physically for other prior commitments. I am happy to know that CANVAS has done many things successfully for Rourkela. I am really proud to have been awarded Utkal Ratna Samman.”
The only qualification required is that one should have completed matriculation and should be from a poor financial background.
