The guard wall on Puri-Konark Marine Drive caved in on Sunday due to strong currents in sea. Following the collapse of the guard wall, the threat has assumed dangerous proportions on the Puri-Konark coast that the sea may devour major portions of land, beaches and roads along the coastline.

National Highways were being developed under different mode of execution including Built Operate & Transfer (BOT) (Toll), Built Operate & Transfer (BOT) (Annuity) and Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Mode.

While the authority started 4,331 kilometres of projects in FY22, in dispute resolution, NHAI settled 60 cases for Rs 4,076 crore which was 28 per cent of the total claimed amount of Rs 14,590 crore.
