RTI activist Pradeep Pradhan termed Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda's statement on RTI copy relating to the deployment of 74 police personnel for the security of 5T Chairman VK Pandian as unfortunate.
Responding to the development, RTI activist Prakash Das said that a forensic examination of the letter should be conducted to ascertain its authenticity.
A major controversy broke out over the distribution of bags with the logos of Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha and 5T to the beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) at PDS centres in Odisha. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly opposed the move of the state government. Surprisingly, some officials were spotted distributing the bags to the ration card holders.
The ruling came while hearing a petition which alleged that the Odisha government is ignoring local public representatives in the Nabin Odisha programme.
Local residents claimed that just hours after taking food at the programme, many villagers were taken ill. ‘Stale dal’ was served to them at the programme, they alleged.
Two groups of the ruling party reportedly came close to a confrontation over the sitting arrangements just minutes before the arrival of the 5T chairman.
While Mishra denied Pandian’s direct nomination filing in the next election. However, Mishra further said that there would be no issues if Pandian decides to contest the election.
He joined the conch party at Naveen Niwas in the presence of party supremo Naveen Patnaik and other party leaders.
