It is well-documented in the holy scriptures that taking a dip in river Ganga heals diseases and washes away all sins. Even scientific studies have reaffirmed the presence of medicinal properties in many river water. Something similar was reported from Tankel village under Nandapur block in Odisha’s tribal-dominated Koraput district.

Demanding action against the rationalists, some ritualists on Tuesday lodged a complaint at Kharvel Nagar police station. They even accused the police of protecting the rationalists.

The Sun is around 109 times bigger than Earth and over 148-million kms away, while the Earth is nearly four times larger than the Moon, with an average distance of 3,85 lakh kms separating them.

The eclipse is visible from all places of India at the time of moonrise. However, the beginning of the partial and total phases of the eclipse is not visible from any places of India as the phenomena will be in progress before moonrise.
