At least four people were killed and more than 20 wounded as a revised 6.1 magnitude quake destroyed over 10,000 buildings and houses in Indonesia's western province of West Sumatra on Friday, a local official said.
The television footage showed several cars were burned outside the nightclub.
The BMKG urged people to avoid cracks or damaged buildings caused by the earthquake.
The earthquake previously triggered a tsunami warning, but it was lifted about two hours later.
The quake struck at 10.20 local time, with the epicentre at 113 km northeast of Larantuka sub-district of East Flores district and the shallow of 10 km under the seabed.
The eruption killed thousands of livestock, while dozens of public facilities, including a bridge connecting districts, were damaged.
"The reports coming to us revealed that 22 have died, and 30 persons lost contacts, and the number could be more than that as there were some mining activities on the rivers just before the eruption,"
