The flash floods triggered by heavy rains on Sunday evening killed 13 persons in Shinwari district and four others in the neighbouring Siagurd, Xinhua news agency quoted the official as saying.
So far, 1,332 people have been transferred to safe places, 5,215 others are receiving accommodation, and 944 houses have been evacuated, he said.
The disaster occurred following a flash flood in the Tozing rivulet in Udaipur subdivision, some 15 km from district headquarters Keylong, after a cloudburst.
