Choudwar in Cuttack is now under the surveillance of high-end CCTV cameras. This has been possible because of the help extended by Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BPIF), the social development wing of IMFA (Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited).
The cameras are expected to play a crucial role in curbing crimes in specific areas.
Many areas in Cuttack district have been inundated due to rise in river water levels. People are grappling with adverse situations while commuting has also become difficult as Birupa River water level rises.
A bus carrying children of a private school overturned in Mandapada Choudwar road in Cuttack district on Saturday. The incident took place near Potlei temple area in Choudwar. As per reports, the driver lost control over the bus following which the vehicle overturned. The bus was en route to pick the students for school while the mishap took place.
A probe has been launched against the bus owner for operating the vehicle by changing its registration number frequently.
