A four-storey building named Gitanjali apartment collapsed in Borivali West in Mumbai on Friday. As per Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), no injuries were reported so far as the building was declared dilapidated and had been vacated earlier.

This is the third major building collapse incident in the metropolis this month.

The official said the dining room floor of a sixth-floor apartment at Chintels Paradiso housing complex first came down, triggering the collapse of roofs and floors directly under it, till the first floor.

Mokhta said the district administration has provided Rs 10,000 as immediate financial aid to each of the occupants of the buildings.
