Virat Kohli
Fans are uncertain whether former India captain Virat Kohli will play in the 2027 World Cup or not. Meanwhile, former India wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has reckoned that Virat Kohli is determined to represent India at the 2027 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. Karthik has expressed confidence that the former captain will continue to thrive under pressure.
"In London, Kohli was training during this big layoff that he's had after a long time in his life. And I also know he was practising cricket easily, two to three sessions a week," said Karthik.
The former cricketer believes that Kohli's disciplined training during the hiatus is a clear indicator of his intent and determination to remain at the top level - and to prepare for the next ODI World Cup, scheduled in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe in 2027.

"The mere presence of the former captain brings stability and confidence to the team. And if he is around, there is no tension, according to me, because he knows what it takes to perform under pressure. And he's done that time and time again. And I'm very confident he will do it again," said Karthik.
With Kohli and Rohit Sharma returning to the ODI team after several months without competitive cricket, questions remain about their future in the ODI setup, especially with Shubman Gill taking charge as India's 50-over captain for the Australia tour.
