From Friendship to Spark

Although Rohit and Ritika tied the knot in 2015, their bond began years earlier. Ritika was frequently seen supporting Rohit during IPL and international matches even before their wedding. On the show Who’s the Boss, hosted by Veteran spinner Harbhanjan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra, the couple opened up about their love story.

Rohit shared that it was their friends who first noticed a spark between them. The two met in 2008, but it was towards the end of 2013 that they realised their feelings had grown deeper. Ritika also revealed a lighter side of Rohit, joking that while he may forget where he keeps his phone, he remembers cricket statistics effortlessly.

The Romantic Proposal

Rohit’s proposal was nothing short of cinematic. He took Ritika to the very ground where he began playing cricket at the age of 12. The special day unfolded after Ritika visited his home with food, and the two stepped out for ice cream.

Unknown to her, Rohit had arranged for a friend to discreetly capture the moment. Parking his car in the middle of the pitch, he got down on one knee and proposed creating a memory straight out of a romance film.

Soon after, the couple married in 2015 and are now proud parents of two children. Their journey is a reminder that behind every celebrated cricketer is a story of love, friendship and unwavering support.
