Suryavanshi stole the spotlight at the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 by smashing 144 off just 42 balls — the joint second-fastest T20 century by an Indian. His knock included 15 sixes and 11 fours, and for a while, he looked on track to challenge the highest individual T20 score and possibly become the first player to hit a double century. His fiery innings ended when he was caught near the boundary in the 13th over.

“My father is never satisfied with my performance. Even if I score 200, he’ll still say I could’ve added ten more. But my mother is always happy. Whether I get a hundred or a duck, she just tells me, ‘Keep doing well,’” Vaibhav said.

He also shared a glimpse of his post-match chat with his father:

Vaibhav asked, “Were you watching the match?”

His father replied, “Yes, from the very beginning. If you had hit that shot a bit higher over covers, it would’ve been a six.”

Vaibhav responded, “I couldn’t time it well; the ball slowed down.”

To which his father finally said, “It’s alright. You played well.”

Despite his explosive innings, Vaibhav felt there was still room for improvement.

“I don’t try to do anything out of the ordinary. I stick to what I’ve learned since childhood and the hard work I’ve put in. If I attempt something that’s not part of my game, it won’t help me or the team. Had I stayed a little longer, maybe I could’ve added 20–30 more runs and set a personal milestone,” he said.
