Bhubaneswar: The ongoing Utkal Open Tennis tournament at the Kalinga stadium concluded on Sunday. Grabbing two titles, Anshu Kumar Bhuyan emerged as the champion of both men’s singles and doubles' event whereas Rutuparna Choudhury claimed the title in the women’s singles event.

Among others, Sonali Mohanty became the champion in the Under-14 girl’s category, Stevan Ankit came out with flying colours in the boy's category. Similarly, Saswat Jena and Himadri won the mixed doubles event in 40+ (age) category.

On the other hand, Preeti Bakshi and Saroj Majumdar won the doubles title in 50+ category whereas Biranchi Narayan Mohanty and Juganand Patnaik were adjudged champions in the 60+ doubles category.

The tournament ended on a high note on Sunday with Chief Guest Sanjeev Marik, former DGP of Odisha, handing over the trophy to the winners.

The tournament which featured more than 400 players from Odisha was organised by the Ace Tennis Club. There were eight categories in total including four singles and four doubles. The categories included U-14 singles in both boys and girls category, men’s and women’s singles, men’s doubles, and 40+, 50+ and 60+ doubles categories.
