Ranchi: Wife of former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has reportedly applied for a .32-bore pistol citing security reasons.
According to The Indian Express, Sakshi has applied for the arms licence citing security issues on account of her going out of home on work alone.
On Sakhi’s application for the revolver, officials said that there is nothing out-of-the-ordinary if someone applies for such a licence.
The final decision to give approval for the same rests with the district level authorities, said a senior police officer without revealing much.
Dhonis have always been accorded security by the state government whenever they are at home or away.
Nine years ago, Dhoni himself had applied for a 9 mm pistol after he was threatened by some unknown miscreants to pay ransom of Rs 50 lakh.
