Bhubaneswar: FC Goa thrashed Jamshedpur FC by 5-1 goals in an all-ISL team clash in the quarter-final round of the Super Cup Football Tournament being played at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

Goa looked stronger in the first half and maintained pressure on the Jamshedpur defenders. In the sixth minute of the game, Mandar Rao Desai was in a one-on-one position with Jamshedpur goalie Subrata Paul but the latter used his experience to block Desai from scoring an early goal.

Jamshedpur FC also had a chance in the 10th minute when Kervens Belfort was on target after receiving a cross from Yumnam Raju but goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani stopped the ball without any problem.

In the very next minute, Subrata restricted Goa from scoring by making a good save after Edu Bedia's free-kick. Although, Goa was seen dominating, no goals were scored in the first half-an-hour.

The opening goal of the game came through Goa's Brandon Fernandes in the 34th minute. Hugo Boumous' through pass was nicely slotted past Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper by the Indian midfielder to give Goa a lead in the first half.

In the 40th minute, Kervens Belfort headed a corner just over the FC Goa goalpost while Ferran Corominas and Brandon Fernandes were not allowed to double the lead by Subrata in the injury time of four minutes of the half.

Surprisingly, three red cards for each team at half-time resulted in an eight-a-side game in the second half. Three players each from both the sides were given red cards due to disciplinary action.

After the change of sides, Goa came in with a more aggressive mindset. Ferran Corominas was brought down by Jamshedpur defender Memo and a penalty kick was awarded which was eventually converted by Ferran Corominas in the 69th minute to double the lead.

FC Goa extended the lead to three goals through a Manvir Singh-goal in the 77th minute. Mandar Rao Desai received the ball on the right flank and passed it into the box to Manvir who found the back of the net with elan.

In very next minute, Hugo Boumous breached the Jamshedpur defence to score the fourth goal for Goa. He ran from the midfield with the ball and dodged two defenders quite comfortably to score the goal.

Boumous scored again in the 89th minute when Jamshedpur players looked frustrated and desperate in search of at least one goal. Boumous managed to push the ball into the post after receiving the cross from Edu Bedia.

The lone goal for Jamshedpur FC came in the injury time that too through substitute striker Ashim Biswas. Biswas netted another substitute Farukh Chaudhary's pass inside the box to score the consolation goal for the Jharkhand-based ISL team.
