‘Stop pulling them down’: This South African legend defends Rohit & Virat from unfair criticism

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former South Africa captain lashed out at the negativity surrounding the two stalwarts, who faced criticism after a mixed start to India’s recent Australia ODI series.

“Why Pour Negativity on Legends?”

In the first match, Rohit and Kohli scored 8 and 0, while Rohit’s 73 in the second game couldn’t prevent another defeat. But in the final ODI, the duo silenced doubters with a stunning 168-run partnership, powering India to a nine-wicket win in Sydney.

De Villiers slammed those questioning their form, saying:

“I don’t know what it is about people, cockroaches climbing out of their holes when players reach the end of their careers. Why pour negativity into players who’ve given their lives to cricket? This is the time to celebrate them.”
