Bhubaneswar: Odisha finished off their campaign in the on-going Ranji Trophy season on a high note after registering a comprehensive win against Goa in the Round IX - Elite Group C match played at the Vikash Cricket Ground in Bhubaneswsar.

Odisha team put up brilliant performance both with bat and the ball and thrashed Goa by 276 runs in just three days.

Chasing a target of 387 runs in their second innings, team Goa was rattled by Odia pacers Rajesh Mohanty and Basant Mohanty, who shared 9 wickets between them to bundle up Goa for 111 runs in 29.5 overs.

Amogh Desai was the top scorer for Goa with 28 runs. While Rajesh picked up five wickets for 49 runs in his 9.5 overs, Basant scalped four for 21 in 10 overs.

Earlier in the day, Goa bowlers Lakshay Garg and Krishna Das restricted Odisha to 151 runs in their second innings which gave Goa a 387-run target. Wicketkeeper-batsman Sujit Lenka was the top scorer for Odisha in the 2nd innings with 39 runs off 30 balls.

In the first innings, Odisha had scored 352 runs, thanks to a well-constructed century by Sandeep Patnaik and 65 runs from Suryakant Pradhan's bat. Pradhan also shined with ball by claiming 5 wickets to confine Goa to a meagre total of 152 runs in the first innings.

For his brilliant all-round display, Suryakant Pradhan was adjudged Man of the Match.

Odisha got 6 points after the win and finished off this year’s Ranji Trophy campaign at 4th spot in their Elite Group-C with 26 points from 4 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws.
