Bhubaneswar: Odisha team defeated the Delhi team in the All India Leg Cricket Championship on February 23 at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh to become the champion of the 9th edition of the championship game.

The National Championship started from February 21 and ended on February 23. Only six teams could participate in the championship due to sudden lockdown in states like Maharashtra and certain other South-Indian States, many of the teams were unable to participate in this championship.

Odisha team was in Group-B of this Championship. They Faced Uttar Pradesh-B and Telangana and by wining the group match they qualified for semi-finals and they met Uttar Pradesh- A. In the semi-finals, Odisha won the match by 58 runs from Uttar Pradesh. After making it into the finals Team Odisha Faced the Delhi Team. However, team Odisha bowled first after they lost the toss against Delhi.

Team Odisha restricted the Delhi team at 163 in 8 overs knocking down all the players. Odisha achieved the target in 9 overs only by loosing 8 wickets.

Odisha team was lead by Chandan Ray who is the current Indian Leg Cricket Team Captain also. With full of experience, he pushed the team to create history in the All India Leg Cricket Championship. Including this, Odisha has won 2 National Championship under his captaincy.
