If the Indian Premier League (IPL) has given the Indian cricket many outstanding players who are dominating the world of cricket, the T20 format has also reportedly ruined the career of several well-established cricketers.

Let’s look at some ugliest fights between cricketers during the championship, especially with the present Indian skipper, which cost dearer to the opponent players.

Kohli and Gambhir

It was happened in the IPL 2013 match between KKR and RCB. The incident happened on the very first delivery of the 10th over bowled by Indian bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji. Kohli went for a slash to Balaji but was caught in the sweeper cover region.

However, instead of returning to the pavilion Kohli walked towards short extra cover and apparently made a remark and Gambhir too angrily walked towards Kohli. Thanks to Delhi lad Rajat Bhatia who got in between them and averted them from going physical.

Since then, Gambhir has not been able to make it to the Indian team despite being in good form for a couple of seasons, said sources.

However, reports are there that there is no enmity between the duo.

Kohli and Robin Uthappa

Despite having good IPL seasons, the Karnataka batsman has so far failed to catch the attention of the selectors. However, it is alleged that as Uthappa was the team member of Gambhir and played important role in winning the trophy for the KKR team on several occasions, he has not been included into the squad for long.

However, reports are there that the emergence of players like Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Anjikya Rahane led the selectors to think beyond Uthappa.

Besides, the age of Uthappa doesn’t seem to favour his selection.

Kohli and Suresh Raina

According to media reports, everything was going well between Kohli and Raina till the latter became the captain of the Gujarat Lions. Even though there are no reports of any publicly fight between the duo, Raina has been continuously put aside during selection for the national team since then.

However, there’s nothing to prove any enmity between them. Besides, Raina has been recalled for the Indian Twenty20 squad for the three-match series against South Africa starting February 18. He has also overcome fitness issues.
