India’s Manpreet Kaur wins shot put gold at Asian Grand Prix
The gold medal helps her become No 1 in shot put in world rankings
Indian shot putter Manpreet Kaur has, on Monday, clinched gold in the ongoing Asian Grand Prix Athletics Meet in Jinhua, China.
Breaking her earlier national record of 17.96m, Manpreet came up with her best throw of 18.86m at the event. It also helped her become No 1 in shot put in world rankings
The 26-year-old Manpreet from Punjab has qualified for the IAAF World Championships to be held in August in London.
So far, India has won seven medals – 1 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.
