Ahead of the much-anticipated India vs South Africa match at Barabati Stadium, authorities have issued detailed guidelines for ticket sales to ensure smooth and secure crowd management. Tickets for the general public will be sold at designated counters starting December 5 at 9 AM.
For the first time, iron barricades arranged in a serpentine pattern have been installed to streamline queues and prevent overcrowding. Entry and exit routes near the Cricket Academy will remain separate to avoid congestion during ticket distribution.
Officials have clearly stated that while people may begin queuing from 6 AM on the day of the sale, no one will be allowed to form queues the previous night. This decision comes in response to past incidents of uncontrolled crowding and safety concerns.

“The ticket sale for the Dec 9 match will begin on Dec 5, as declared by OCA. The counters will be barricaded and kept under CCTV surveillance. People are requested to follow the timings, and we have to ensure proper police deployment,” informed Cuttack DSP Risikesh Khilari.
“Our effort is to prevent anti-socials from creating untoward incidents so that spectators can buy the tickets orderly. For that, we have done proper barricading, and there will be police deployment. Furthermore, we have made water and medical facilities for the people. Since ticket selling begins at 9 am, people are requested to queue at around 6 am. As many people are facing problems, no one will be allowed in earlier,” he added.
To curb black marketing, police personnel in plain clothes will be deployed around the venue. Additionally, the entire ticket sale process will be closely monitored through CCTV surveillance, ensuring transparency and preventing any illegal activity.
Cuttack DCP confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been made to manage crowd movement efficiently and to maintain law and order throughout the ticket-selling period.
