Bhubaneswar: The tickets for opening ceremony of the much-awaited Men’s Hockey World Cup at Kalinga Stadium and the World Cup Celebrations event at Barabati Stadium will be sold online from November 20.

As per an announcement by the Hockey India on Sunday, the selling of tickets for both the events will go live on http://ticketgenie.in/event/hwc-opening-ceremony from November 20 at 12:00 pm.

The online redemption of tickets for the opening ceremony will be done from November 22 at Gate no - 4 of the Kalinga Athletics Stadium along with other locations in Bhubaneswar.

The Hockey India has however not announced the date of online redemption of tickets for the World Cup Celebrations event at Barabati Stadium.

The opening ceremony of the Men’s Hockey World Cup will be held on November 27 and World Cup Celebrations event will be organised on November 28.

Music maestro A.R. Rahman will perform both at the opening ceremony and the World Cup Celebrations event. Prominent Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan are also scheduled to perform at the events.

It is to be noted here that tension erupted at Kalinga Stadium on November 15 as some fans resorted to vandalism after failing to get tickets for the opening ceremony. A day later the authorities announced that all the tickets for the mega event will be sold online.
