Cuttack: Pacer Rush Kalaria starred with another six-wicket haul as Gujarat scored an easy eight-wicket victory over Odisha in their Group B Ranji Trophy cricket match here today.

Kalaria (6/45) produced another impressive pace-bowling spell on the fourth and final day today as he helped Gujarat bundle out the home team for 248 to end with 12 wickets in the match. He had also taken six wickets in Odisha first innings.

Resuming at their overnight score of 143 for 5, Odisha added 105 runs in 34.1 overs today, losing five wickets in the process, to be all out for 248.

Set a victory target of 102 runs, Gujarat scored 105 for two in 30 overs with first innings centurion Bhargav Merai and Rujul Bhatt both not out on 43 and 33 respectively.

A defeat was staring on Odisha as they had conceded a 147-run first innings lead to the visiting team and despite captain Abhilash Mallick's aggressive century (126 from 137 balls), the home side fell short at the end.

Kalaria, who took four wickets yesterday, took two more wickets today to end with figures of 6/45 in Odisha second innings. He had returned with first innings figures of 6/59.

By virtue of the win, Gujarat collected six points while Odisha got none.
