Harbhajan Singh
Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has weighed in on the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) request to relocate its ICC T20 World Cup 2026 matches from India, citing safety and security concerns.
Harbhajan highlighted India’s long-standing reputation as a secure and hospitable venue for international cricket, stressing that the country has consistently welcomed teams without incident. At the same time, he acknowledged that it is ultimately Bangladesh’s decision whether to play in India or shift their matches to Sri Lanka, with the ICC and BCB holding the final authority.
Speaking candidly, the ex-spinner also criticized recent developments in Bangladesh, particularly the treatment of the Hindu community.

“Due to recent events, Bangladesh does not feel comfortable coming to India. Whatever has happened there is wrong. The ICC must carefully consider their request. India welcomes all teams, but whether they want to play here is entirely their choice,” Harbhajan said.
He urged the ICC to make a balanced, fair decision based on facts rather than public sentiment or emotional pressure, especially with the T20 World Cup only weeks away.
