Suryakumar doesn’t just score runs, he demolishes bowling attacks. When in rhythm, he turns even the most disciplined bowlers into bystanders, dismantling field placements and dictating the tempo of the game. His wrists whip through deliveries that others would merely defend, and his creativity transforms pressure into opportunity.

As India gears up for the T20I series against Australia, all eyes are on captain Suryakumar Yadav, who is desperate to rediscover his explosive batting touch. Once the world’s top-ranked T20I batter, Surya has struggled to deliver in recent months, a concern former India cricketer Parthiv Patel says must be addressed soon.

A Crucial Series for Surya

Suryakumar managed just 72 runs in seven matches during the Asia Cup, with his last half-century coming over a year ago against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. Despite leading an aggressive Indian T20 side, his personal form has dipped, and the Sydney series offers a golden chance for redemption.

‘Surya Can Destroy Any Team’

Speaking ahead of the first T20I in Sydney, Parthiv Patel said, “More than anything personal, it’s important that Surya finds form for the team. If he gets runs, he can destroy the opposition. That’s how dangerous he is.”

Top Order Under Spotlight

Patel also emphasised the need for India’s top order to fire, especially in Australian conditions. “You need early runs here. Our depth helps, but consistency from the top three will be key,” he noted.

Depth and Flexibility: India’s Strength

The former wicketkeeper praised India’s flexible lineup, mentioning players like Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Axar Patel, who have adapted to different roles seamlessly.

All Eyes on Sydney

As the five-match series begins on October 29, fans will be watching whether Suryakumar Yadav can silence critics and reclaim his reputation as India’s ultimate T20 game-changer.
