Barabati Stadium IND vs SA T20 ticket black market booms! Purported viral video surfaces

Ahead of the much-anticipated India–South Africa first T20 match at Barabati Stadium, widespread black marketing of tickets has sparked massive outrage among cricket fans. A purported video showing black marketers openly selling tickets on the streets at exorbitant prices has gone viral on social media, exposing the scale of the issue.

In the viral clip, black market sellers are clearly seen bargaining with cricket enthusiasts. Tickets priced at Rs 700 are reportedly being sold for Rs 3,500, while some are being offered for as high as Rs 15,000, depending on demand and urgency.

With only 2,000 tickets made available for online sale, thousands of fans were left disappointed after failing to secure tickets. The situation worsened during offline ticket sales, where a massive, unmanageable crowd prevented many genuine spectators from getting access to counters.

Taking advantage of the chaos, several brokers and black-market operators allegedly obtained multiple tickets through various means, either by pushing into the dense crowds or through undisclosed channels. These tickets are now being resold on the streets at inflated prices, leading to fresh allegations of mismanagement and lack of monitoring.

Cricket lovers have demanded strict action against black marketing and an improved ticket distribution system to ensure fair access for genuine spectators.
