Cuttack: With an aim to promote football among young kids, the city women’s football club will organise ‘Baby football league’ in Cuttack in the first week of January next year.

The announcement came today during a press conference held by the women's football club in the silver city.

As per reports, girls in the age group of 4-12 years will be eligible to participate in the football tournament.

The tournament is an effort by the Football Association of Odisha (FAO) to groom the young players for future tournaments at national and international level.

“Our International coach and members of All India Football Federation (AIFF) have encouraged us regarding the tournament. Football Association of Odisha (FAO) is all set to start the tournament," said Sahadev Sahu, adviser of city women’s football club.

“The responsibility of Baby football league has been given to Gitanjali Khuntia (Head coach of FAO) to train the students," Sahu added.
