India are set to face Australia in the second semifinal on Thursday, October 30, in Navi Mumbai. The first semifinal, between England and South Africa, will take place a day earlier in Guwahati.

In a recent interaction, Karim said, “Australia have maintained a clear edge over other teams, but if I were in their camp, I’d be nervous about playing India in a knockout match. India can genuinely challenge them.”

He added, “If India perform to their potential, they have a solid chance of defeating Australia. Despite Australia’s strong bowling unit, they lack a certain sharpness, and India are the one team capable of exploiting that weakness. Australia will definitely be wary of this.”

In the group-stage encounter between the two sides, India posted an impressive total of 330 runs. However, Australia successfully chased it down, thanks to Alyssa Healy’s outstanding 142 off just 107 balls.
