Bhubaneswar/Jakarta: Odia shuttler Pramod Bhagat today won gold medal in men's singles badminton event during the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia’s capital Jakarta.

He clinched the medal after defeating Rukaendi Ukun of Indonesia in 21-19, 15-21, 21-14 sets.

Despite Ukun giving a tough fight to Bhagat, the latter managed to win the first set. However, the Odia sportsperson lost the second set.

Bhagat bounced back in the third set and came victorious winning the gold for the country.

It is pertinent to mention that ace para athlete from Odisha Jayanti Behera had clinched a silver medal at the on-going 2018 Asian Para Games.

Behera had won the silver by clocking 59.71 seconds in the 400 m event just two days after winning a bronze medal in the 200 metres sprint event.
